Hue 1-Day Tourist Destination For You

Among the tourist destinations in the Central region, Hue emerges as a city that is both beautiful and ancient with its own unique features. Many people with little time also choose to travel to Hue for a day to enjoy the typical culture and cuisine here. Through the article below, I will share my 1-day Hue travel experience, list the places to have fun, and the food you should try.

Hue Tourism: Self-sufficient Travel Experience

1. The Imperial City of Hue

The Imperial City of Hue is an architectural work of cultural and historical value recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural relic. Since the time of construction started more than 2 centuries ago, up to now, it still retains its sacred and ancient features, becoming a name that Hue tourists should not miss.

We chose The Imperial City of Hue as the first destination of the day. Entering here, I was completely stunned by the ancient and magnificent temples and palaces with the bold architecture of the Nguyen Dynasty. All of this makes me feel like I am immersed in the cultural space and lifestyle of the ancient Vietnamese kings.

2. Thien Mu Pagoda

After walking and visiting The Imperial City of Hue, we calculated that in the morning we will also visit Thien Mu Pagoda because these two places are located on the same road, so it is very convenient for traveling.

Thien Mu Pagoda is about 5km from the city center, located on Ha Khe hill right on the banks of the romantic Perfume River. Coming here, I have just been impressed by the ancient feudal architecture through the marble turtle statue, the 7-storey Phuoc Duyen tower…

3. Lake Thuy Tien is mysteriously beautiful

In the early afternoon, we went to visit the famous Thuy Tien Lake. This was actually an abandoned park, but now it has become a famous check-in point for many young people.

Surrounding Thuy Tien Lake is deep green mountains creating a “magical, mysterious” beauty. The magnificent giant “jewel hugging” white dragon symbol in the middle of the water is also a background frame that many young people love to take photos of. Not to say it’s a compliment, but this place looks very “artistic” in photos, so if you come here, don’t forget to choose for yourself some impressive shooting angles.

4. Dong Ba Market and Trang Tien Bridge

Traveling to Hue for 1 day, you will have to arrange your time very well to be able to visit the most important places. For us, Dong Ba market is the next place not to be missed.

Dong Ba Market has long been a trading point, symbolizing the trading atmosphere in Hue city. Tourists come here to experience sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying Hue cuisine. In the market, there are many products ranging from fashion, and handicrafts to souvenirs and specialties to bring back as gifts.

Moreover, if you are a “snack fanatic”, believe me, you will fall in love with the culinary paradise here. Just a few steps away, there are tons of famous delicacies for you to enjoy.

Then, when we were full, we moved to Trang Tien bridge, just a few steps away. Here you can freely enjoy the beautiful sunset scenery. If you want to visit longer, you can experience listening to Hue songs on the Perfume River. This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in gentle melodies imbued with tradition and national culture.

5. Delicious dishes, Hue specialties can not be missed

Right from the beginning of the trip, we have aimed at the goal: a 1-day Hue tour is not only about visiting scenic spots but also having to make the most of the opportunity to enjoy Hue delicacies. Here are some delicious dishes that you can enjoy when you have the opportunity to travel to Hue for a day:

You have countless options to “treat your stomach” such as com Hen, bun Hen, bun bo Hue, banh canh, bun cha, banh mi op la… with prices ranging from 7,000 VND – 50,000 VND /portion, depending on the dish and the place of sale.

Mussel rice/vermicelli is a dish with rustic ingredients such as rice (vermicelli), fried mussels, onions, bean sprouts, roasted peanuts, and coriander … very strange to eat with the price of only 10,000-20,000 VND/ bowl.
